What should I know about chef coats?
The short guide.
Cotton or poly-cotton
Cotton breathes, which matters on a line at full heat, but it creases and can shrink if it has not been treated for it. Poly-cotton drill is the usual choice for kitchens that launder daily, because it holds its shape, dries quickly and stands up to hot washing. The quote states the cloth it is based on, so the choice is made in the open rather than discovered after the first wash.
Fastening
Cloth knot buttons are the traditional finish and survive industrial laundering. Press studs open in one pull, which some kitchens prefer so a coat can come off fast if hot oil or liquid gets onto it. Either way, the fastening is a decision for the head chef rather than a default, and it is worth making before the mockup.

Where guests can see the pass, the chef coat is part of how the restaurant looks. The restaurant's mark on the chest and the chef's name above it is the standard, and a thread colour drawn from the brand ties the kitchen to the dining room. One piece is a real order, so a single replacement for a new joiner is fine.

Yes. The coat, the cloth, the thread colour and the artwork are saved, so a coat for a new joiner matches the rest of the brigade.
Can you make aprons and caps to match the coats?
Yes, branded to match, on the same order and the same GST invoice as the coats.
Is a chef coat the same as a chef jacket?
Yes. Chef coat and chef jacket are two names for the same garment.
Can each chef's name be embroidered?
Yes. Send a list of names with sizes and each coat is embroidered with its own.
What is the minimum order for chef coats?
There is none. One piece is a real order, so a uniform for one new joiner is fine, and later orders match the first.
Why are most chef coats white?
White can be washed hot and bleached, which is how kitchens keep coats clean. Darker coats hide marks but fade under the same washing.
How long do chef coats take?
Dispatch is 4 to 30 days from approving the mockup. The date comes in writing with the mockup.
