What usually goes wrong with hotel uniforms?

What should I know about hotel uniforms?

A palette, not a single garment
A hotel is recognised by a set of colours rather than one uniform. Two or three colours drawn from the brand, with the most formal at the front desk and mid tones back of house, let every department dress for its work and still look like one property. Guests notice when the concierge and the restaurant team match. They notice more when they do not.
Openings and attrition
A new property hires its whole team in the weeks before opening, and then replaces a share of it every year. The first order has to cover every department and size, XS to 5XL, and later orders have to match it as people join. One piece is a real order, so a single replacement for a new joiner is fine, and every order comes with a GST invoice.
Restaurants and kitchens inside the hotel
A hotel's restaurants and banqueting run on the same demands as a standalone restaurant: long service, spills and hot washing. Kitchen staff need chef coats rather than anything adapted from front of house. Keep them in the same order and the same palette as the rest of the property, so the outlets look like part of the hotel rather than a tenant.
