What goes in a welcome kit
Usually a t-shirt or hoodie, a bottle or a mug, a diary and a pen, and a card. The apparel is the part people keep and the part most often got wrong, because it needs a size. Everything else is chosen on how it looks on a desk six months later rather than on the day it arrives.
The size problem, and how to avoid it
Collecting sizes is what holds onboarding kits up. Asking people for a size gets guesses. Sending them the size chart and asking them to measure a t-shirt they already own gets a number you can order against. For a rolling intake, hold a small buffer of the middle sizes and reorder as they go.
