What should I know about basketball jerseys?

Why the cut matters
A basketball jersey is sleeveless because a shooting arm and a rebound need the shoulder free. The armholes are cut wide and the body long enough to stay tucked in through a game of jumping. A light, breathable polyester matters more here than in almost any other sport, because the game is played indoors, fast, and often in a hall with no air conditioning.
Numbers and league rules
Most leagues and tournaments want a number on both the front and the back, and some set which numbers are allowed and how large they must be. Check your league's rules before the design is drawn, not after. The name usually goes above the back number, and the front number often sits under the team name or the crest.
When players wear a tee underneath
Many school and college teams wear a tee under the jersey, by rule or by choice. If they do, the tee colour should be decided with the jersey, because a mismatched tee under a matched set is what the team photo shows. Ask for both on the same quote so they are designed together.
