Most reorders on a team set are not printing mistakes. They are sizes guessed from a group chat. Here is how to avoid them.
Start with one jersey
Order one jersey in the size most of the team wears and pass it round. Players size themselves against a real jersey far better than against a chart. One jersey is a real order, so this costs one jersey and saves several.
Collect sizes in a roster, not in chat
Make one sheet with four columns: the name exactly as it should print, the number, the size and the sleeve (half or full). Send that sheet with the order. Names copied out of a chat are where spelling mistakes come from, and the jersey is printed to the roster you approve.
Sizes we make
Adults from XS to 5XL, and juniors from 2 to 14 years, for less than adults. Mix them freely in one order: a coach in XL and an under 12 player can be in the same set.
Fit by sport
- Cricket: a regular fit with room in the shoulders to bowl and throw.
- Football: a closer fit, so a defender cannot grab a handful of shirt.
- Basketball: vests, cut wide at the armhole.
- Esports and fans: a tee cut, often one size up for comfort.
If two sizes look right, choose the larger one for match jerseys. A jersey that is slightly loose is played in; one that is tight stays in the bag.
Order spares
Add one or two jerseys in the most common sizes without names. New players join after the order, and a spare saves a reorder of one.
Check before you approve
Count the roster against the squad, look for two players with the same number, and settle capitals and spellings. Then approve the mockup.
