Who orders festival t-shirts, and what they put on them
Mostly the people organising: Ganesh Chaturthi mandals in Pune, Mumbai and Bengaluru dressing their volunteers and dhol-tasha groups, offices running an Onam or Pongal day, Durga Puja committees, and Navratri garba groups. The usual shirt is one colour for the whole team, the committee's name on the chest in Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali or English, the year or the edition, and local sponsors across the back. Committee heads often wear a polo with the name embroidered.
What it costs and when to order
A crew neck with a chest print is ₹465 + GST for 1 to 9 pieces, ₹365 from 50 and ₹330 from 100. Add an A3 sponsor panel on the back and 100 or more come to ₹520 each. Up to 50 pieces in stock colours with a DTF print or embroidery are dispatched from 4 days after you approve the mockup; a mandal order of several hundred can take up to 30 days, so approve it a month before the first day. The date is on the mockup, and shipping is added at checkout.

The darshan queue
On the busiest evening of a big pandal, a lost child or an elderly visitor looks for someone in charge. Ten volunteers in one red shirt, "Volunteer" large across the back, are found in seconds in a crowd where everyone else is dressed up.

The visarjan
A long day on the road with the dhol-tasha pathak, gulal in the air and water everywhere. Pick a colour that forgives it: red hides gulal far better than white or cream, and a print on the back reads in every photo from the procession.

Office Onam
Half the floor turns up in kasavu and mundu, the rest come straight from a call. A cream tee with a gold-coloured kasavu motif printed on the chest puts the organising team in the same picture as the pookalam, and the vadamvali teams can wear their own colours.

Sindoor khela and the last garba night
The shirt that comes home stained red on Dashami, or the one the whole group wore on the ninth night, is the one people keep. Put the year on it.

Script, sponsors and the year: how each is done.

DTF print
Prints your artwork exactly as sent, in any script and any number of colours, from one piece. Send the lettering as a file rather than typing it in a message, so the spelling on the shirt is the one the committee approved. ₹50 for a chest print at 1 to 9 pieces, ₹35 from 100.

Embroidery
For the committee polo and anything the office will wear again. A dense left-chest logo is ₹60 a piece at 1 to 9 and ₹50 from 25, with ₹300 once to digitize under 100 pieces.

Screen print
For a mandal running hundreds of one design in one or two flat colours. Send the count and the artwork and it is priced on the quote next to DTF.
Plan it
When to order, counted back from the first day.
- Six weeks before
Close the sponsor list for the shirt and collect each logo as a file. Get the committee to agree on one spelling of the name in each script.
- Five weeks before
Count volunteers by role and collect sizes. Approve the mockup for the big batch; several hundred pieces can take up to 30 days.
- Two weeks before
Order the committee polos and the late joiners. Up to 50 in stock colours with DTF or embroidery are dispatched from 4 days after approval.
- Festival week
Delivered to the pandal or the office. In Bengaluru, collect from a Merch Lab in Koramangala, Kadubeesanahalli or Electronic City; in Chennai, from our Merch Lab there.

What does a Ganpati mandal t-shirt cost for 200 volunteers?
A crew neck with the mandal's name on the chest is ₹330 + GST each from 100 pieces. With sponsors across the back at A3, it's ₹520 each. Shipping is added at checkout.
Do you have orange t-shirts for Ganesh Chaturthi?
Our cotton t-shirts don't come in orange. The Active Polo comes in woody orange and yellow, and the Classic oversized hoodie in orange and mustard. Most mandals choose red, or white and cream with the design printed in orange.
Can the mandal's name be printed in Marathi, Kannada or Bengali?
Yes. DTF prints the lettering exactly as it is in your file, in any script. Send it as artwork, not typed text, and check the spelling on the mockup.
Which t-shirt colour hides gulal during visarjan?
Red, and maroon in the polos. Gulal may not wash out of light cotton completely, so white and cream are for the people who want the stains as a keepsake.
What can our office wear for the Onam celebration?
A cream or off-white tee with a gold-coloured kasavu stripe printed across the chest and the logo small above it sits well next to kasavu sarees and mundu. The gold is a printed colour, so look at it on the mockup.
Can each garba group member have her name on the back?
Yes. Send the list of names and sizes, and every shirt is printed with its own. You check each name on the mockup before anything is made.
How early should a Durga Puja committee order t-shirts?
For a few hundred pieces, approve the mockup a month before Shashthi; big orders take up to 30 days. Up to 50 in stock colours are dispatched from 4 days after approval.
Do you give the mandal or the trust a GST invoice?
Yes, a GST invoice for the whole order, with your GSTIN on it if the mandal or trust has one.
